Plants in strange places

Indian borage - a hardy plant that can survive with little water. Perfect for the hot weather we are facing.

Held together with 2 zip ties.

The container is from Ikea.

My combo herbs for tea

Bought another one of those small RM 2 pots from Giant supermarket to make this herb combo pot.

Mints + Indian Borage + Pegaga Gajah.

All three can be used in my tea. :)

Benefits for each herb:

Indian Borage : cures cough and wind.
Mint: Relieves sore throat, high in Vitamin A and antioxidants.
Pegaga gajah: Good for memory, skin and anti viral properties.

Won't be taking the pegaga gajah for some time because it only has 3 tiny leaves!

Staying in an apartment I don't have a garden, so potted herbs like these is quite attractive for me.

Mosquito repellent

Indian Borage (bangun-bangun) + Mint = mosquito repellent.

Not sure if this is true or not but I will be rooting this two plants in water. I know Indian Borage (Plectranthus barbatus) is better to be planted straight to ground (as adviced by many in the Malaysian Gardeners Facebook group) but I just like to see it in water for a while.

According to one blog, the Indian Borage is an effective cure for cough and even recommended by her doctor friend.
